Product Spotlight: Safety Work Platforms
Working at heights…
Necessary, but dangerous.
Essential to our civilization, yet a considerable risk.
We owe it to those who put their life on the line; to those who work, toil, and labor at heights.
We owe them protection, security, and defense against the natural elements and the unpredictability of events.
Their risk warrants a response from we who benefit.
Enter, the Work Platform…
These fully welded, steel platforms exceed OSHA standards and allow for the transportation and protection of humans working at heights. Each unit is equipped with diamond plate flooring, swing gates, and kick-plates to ensure that all cargo stays inside.
Work Platforms are used in many industries. But in the interest of brevity, let’s take a look at three:
1. Professional Window Washing
This occupation epitomizes the art of aerial labor. Window washing requires one to access locations that are hundreds, sometimes thousands of feet off the ground. Work Platforms can make these vertical endeavors easy and efficient. Each platform is rated for 1,000 lbs — allowing for both employees and their equipment to be transported at the same time.
2. Roofing
Roofing is one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. According to Industrial Safety & Hygiene News, 41 per 100,000 workers die as a direct result of occupational hazard. Trips, falls, and, slips account for the most common accident. All which could be prevented, or at least altered, via the implementation of a work platform.
3. General Maintenance
This, of course, is about as broad as a category can get. That said, it’s important to note that even the most basic, somewhat common tasks (e.g. holiday lights, cleaning gutters, fixing deck) expose us to risks that are often forgotten or disrespected. The risk of injury via fall is present anytime a job is carried out at heights. The mitigation of this risk is possible and should be taken into account.
Work Platforms are a simple solution to the inherent risks of working at heights. All acts take on greater importance when one is off the ground. Supplying workers with a place to feel safe and efficiently operate is not a luxury, but a need.
Safety for our workers must remain primary.
